Titanium is among the finest materials for making bike frames - it has incredible strength to weight ratio, brings together the compliance of steel with the stiffness and speed of aluminium, and is also very corrosion resistant. Frames made of titanium, if properly crafted, are typically considered to be virtually indestructible under everyday conditions.
This bike is clearly of an incredibly high quality, and the frame presents in near new condition. It came to us from an experienced rider who had some physical difficulties, and therefore has some interesting qualities. The groupset (Ultegra 6500) sports a long cage derailleur and a triple chainring for a significantly increased gear range, paired with a high-rise Ritchey stem for a more upright riding position.
The bike runs brilliantly and would make a wonderful weekend bike, especially for older riders seeking a more versatile and relaxed setup. Given its pedigree, this bike may also be of interest to vintage bike afficionados looking to rebuild the frame with a newer and more modern groupset, which we are happy to assist with.
